Arizona Revised Statutes

      1. (a) Means the gathering, in person or through technological devices, of a quorum of the members of a public body at which they discuss, propose or take legal action, including any deliberations by a quorum with respect to that action.

      2. (b) Includes:

        • (i) A one-way electronic communication by one member of a public body that is sent to a quorum of the members of a public body and that proposes legal action.

        • (ii) An exchange of electronic communications among a quorum of the members of a public body that involves a discussion, deliberation or the taking of legal action by the public body concerning a matter likely to come before the public body for action.

    • While this definition is in the Public body statute, it is the only definition of “Meeting” in Arizona Statute. Attorney General Opinion I97-012 cites case law Larson v. Farley 106 Ariz 119, 122, 471 (1970) to apply this language as applicable for the definition of “meeting” for Title 33 chapters 9 and 16.
